A few months ago I was connected with Tara through social media, she was looking for someone to photograph her and her fiance Dylan’s mint green VW Bus that they turned into a photobooth called Shutter Bus co. for weddings and events. Seeing that I am a wedding photographer who also loves photographing vintage cars (especially VW buses) I was so excited to set up a fun styled shoot with them that was essentially my dream shoot. At first it seemed they wanted me to get models but when I found out that Tara and Dylan were engaged and saw how stylish they were I thought they would be the perfect people to model in front of the van! Tara also owns the super cool custom candle and crystal shop Dusk check it out. I then reached out to the talented sisters of Primrosetwin for florals and they knocked it out of the park with arrangements that were bright, full of color and texture. I also want to touch on the wardrobe that these two love birds wore which played a huge part in creating the right vibe for our shoot. I asked them to wear something neutral yet fun so that the flowers and the bus could really pop. These outfits are great inspiration for the non traditional couple who wants to wear something more low key for their elopement or wedding but still wants to be stylish.
We shot in beautiful Ventura California near near the State Beach, this was extra special because the whole team lives there and I used to call Ventura home for nearly 8 years and love visiting and shooting there any chance I can get. Creative collaborations like this fill me with so much joy because I am able to come together with creatives who are like minded and it really lets us showcase what we can do as artists if given the freedom!
